Question 1 / 3Defne was waiting for the bus in a hard wind. Her gloves were wet. Her nose and fingers tingled. Her mother opened the door: "Come inside, warm up." Defne asked: "Why am I so cold?" "This is extreme cold. Waiting outside with wet gloves makes you colder. We dress in layers. We don't stay out long." School had said there was no outdoor activity that day. "If you're cold, go inside. If you feel numb, tell someone right away." Defne wrote this in her mind: Wet + wind = go inside. Dress in layers.
