Question 1 / 2An earthquake is vibrations caused by the friction or rupture of plates in the earth's crust. Turkey has high earthquake risk as it sits on the North Anatolian Fault Line and East Anatolian Fault Line. Earthquakes are measured on the Richter scale: below 5.0 is minor, 5.0-6.9 is moderate, 7.0 and above is a major earthquake.
